Walterjn I have a 3 wood. I leave it at home. It’s not an easy club to hit and requires a lot of practice. For the amount I’d use it when I play, it’s not worth my time.
Over the summer I took it out with me. We have one par 5 on the back 9 that is 550 yards. If I used it on my second shot and hit it perfect I could put it on. If I miss hit it, water and crap in the fairway, trees left and right as it narrows toward the green. My play is a 3 hybrid to 65 yards dead center and an easy pitch on the green. None of the crap is in play when I do that. I’ll make more birdies that way than going for it with a 3 wood.
