I hear that too… possibly the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard. The only people saying that are the ones clueless to the sport.

I tell them they WILL see the whole course because you’re gonna shoot 110.

What I like to do on Friday night when I close is before I go home I take the Blue tee markers and move them. I go as far back as possible and as far to the right side of the tee box as I can. The left tee marker not even to the middle of the tee box. There are overhanging tree branches making it impossible to play from there.

I’ll get in around 11 and watch people walk back to the blues and then come up an hit from the whites.

We play the geezer tees at our fav course (yellow). On two par 4's nobody can get to in two anymore we even tee it up where the short grass starts. Everyone is good with that and all have a good time.

We do exactly the same thing! In fact GPS's make it easy to pick a decent yardage!

Rickochet Very smart thing to do, keeps it fair and fun for the group. When my kids were small I’d have them tee it up from the 150 yard marker and play from there. It made it more fun for them. Good call… wish more people had the sense to do that.

Walterjn Same here and I will try different things/shots because I'm carrying too much stuff. Might as well, plus if I have cigars left, stretch it out, walk slower. Not once have any ranger/golf person at the course told me to speed up. Now, I don't 4-putt--pick the ball up and move on.

Bravopilot We don't have a ranger, and I'm amazed that people don't complain about pace of play. Its because too many people forget they're there to play golf... I thrink they don't know how long a round is supposed to take. No offense but its the light up cigars, drive around, go slower...no clue that other people are there to play and finish crowd....not spend 6 hours there.

Typhoon Understand, I walk and use a pushcart and can easily light up my cigar while walking. If it is even close to someone pushing into me, I walk to the next hole to create an open. I don't slow anybody down and if play is too slow and I'm behind, I walk in.
Plus, when folks let me play through, I walk to the next tee box and skip the hole.

What a novel concept....LOL....whenever I let anybody play through, they become the SLOWEST PLAYER IN THE
WORLD!!! Extra practice swings, mulligans, lousy shots, extra putts....!!! How the hell did they catch up to me in the first place???

Typhoon I wish people would play their own game

Some years ago we had a 4ball at Gleneagles. One of the guys fancied himself as a big hitter (he was occasionally, but rarely straight, and not the longest hitter in our group). So he's giving it tight to the starter that for the money he paid he'd like to play the white tees. "Go ahead sir", the starter said. Hit an absolute sky ball 45 degrees right to loud laughter from us. "The rest of you OK with the yellows? I can have your friend taken off the course at any point if he's holding you up ...". Really one of those "You had to be there to appreciate it" moments ...

It was a beautiful day for golf. That's all I'm going to say about it.🤬

80 at Timber Greens. Had one birdie. Won two matches and tied one. Had an individual match on #18 with two tie all tie and one person won that match getting a stroke. Ended up winning $3.00.

Half a BLT and a cup of New England clam chowder for lunch. Went out at 7:15 and was foggy for the first couple holes. Fun day as always.

Played indoors last night. Used my driver, my bosses hybrid and my friends i25 irons and new stroke lab 7s putter. Can't remember what course we played. Had a few Bud Lights... I was -6, we quit after 13 because we ran out of beer.

Par4QC Jimmy H. might still be on a course somewhere every day. There were a lot of new courses being built in the 70's.
