Played the River Course today. The greens were punched and sanded. Putting was iffy, one green is slow, the following is not... Chipping was interesting, one green the ball just stopped like it locked the brakes, another was check and release. Irons were all over the place, half the time I was in the rough. Had a few really beautiful drives that went straight down the middle of the fairway.
I decided last minute that I would play a longer set of tees today. I joined a couple of guys who pulled up to the tee box as I did, they were playing the blues so I said what the heck. Blues are marked as 71.1/122 with total yardage of 6471. 350 yards longer than the whites that I played there the first 2 times. I shot a 110. I need to remember that I need to play my game and not try to keep up with anyone else. I gotta say those two guys were great, they even shared some of the smokes tri-tip they brought with them.
All in all, I added 350 yards to the game I played today and I played like crap on punched greens and shot a 110. I can't be too unhappy with that, I was off and I know it, everything was just a little bit off, on the bright side I had a good time, and met a couple of really cool guys. It could have been much worse.
