Drove just over the state line to play a course in NY yesterday. Centennial in Carmel, NY. Beautiful, but insanely hilly course and the slope was 143 (maybe should be higher given their rough). Too much for us, but I did keep it to low 90's and won money.
The layout was cool, but unfortunately for a high end course, it was not in very good shape. The tee boxes were chewed up and so were the greens. They said the greens had been aerated the 1st week of August, but it looked like they had been done yesterday....and done badly. We couldn't even get severe downhill putts to the hole. Too bad, I felt like I hit the ball really well, but the 3 putts ruined it. Still the sun was shining and we weren't at work. For Sneakylong, I had a fantastic veal marsala later for dinner.
