Friendly matchplay Saturday with GG, MS and golf_ghirl. Ladies v men ... we lost front, back and overall, although I suspect the handicap allowances weren't quite right. In mixed comps there's a calculation needs to be done but I couldn't get a mobile data connection so the girls claimed 3 shots each on top of whatever else they were getting. That's our excuse anyway, but the golf in general was good from both sides. My driving was a bit off but I found something late on and hit a couple of real bombs (for me).
Sunday was a mixed greensome (not foursome) - me, golf_ghirl, and another couple from our club - at Tulliallan and whatever I found in my driver late Saturday turned up again big time! Strange rule though, had to count minimum 6 tee shots from each of us, and with the gaps between ladies tees and gents medal tees, had to think hard about whose ball to play after the tee shots. Anyway we played pretty consistently but consecutibe double bogeys cost us in the end - we carded a nett 68, our friends a 67. Winning score when we left was 65 with a handful of 66s tied 2nd so no prizes, but a nice day out and a good warm up weekend for golf_ghirl's championship quarter final match tonight which she won 3&2, semi final Wednesday.
I've got a seniors comp at Lanark tomorrow that I'm looking forward to, good course that I haven't played for a few years.
