Yesterday, seniors league match away at Hayston, a (fairly) local course I'd never played before. Great match but team lost and me and my partner got burned 3&2, closed out by a monster birdie putt on a par 5. I had a 15' birdie putt for the half but slightly underhit and it rolled across the front of the hole just catching the lip ... but not enough to drop and keep the match going. Ah well, good match on a decent track with good company.
Special mention to one of our oppos, playing an 11 'cap at the age of 82 and occasionally outdriving the rest of us ... very impressive. Eccentric wee man who has trouble remembering the names of members of his own course, although he said hello to most of them on the way round, even if they turned out not to be who he thought they were when he spotted them ๐คฃ
Not too keen on his mate though - very good company on the golf course but did he really say my swing reminds him of Matt Kuchar? Don't know whether to laugh or book some lessons, I'm not a fan of Kuchar's swing ๐
PS Roasting hot day, that hat I posted in the What Did You Buy thread is the business for sun protection, and a good putting aid to boot. Probably depends on head size/neck length but I found it scuffs the top of my shoulders when I turn my head and you can feel and hear it. So when putting, no scuff = no head movement. Brilliant!
