I figured we could have a thread on golf rounds. I'll go 1st.

Played Whirlwind Cattail course today. I was hitting the driver far. Pushing 290-300 75% of my drives. My wedge play was in shambles. Made for a frustrating round. Shot a 94. ๐ŸคฌWork paid for the golf and it was a nice way to spend a Friday afternoon. 70ยฐ and not a cloud in the sky and I walked the course.

Hacked, bunted, chipped and putted my way to an 82. No complaints on score, but all my decent shots were around the greens.

Thinking about shooting my shot again soon. It's been over 7 years.

The day before my cancer surgery, I played 18 at Troy Burne, Tom Lehman's course up in lovely Wisconsin. Wanted to do what I loved on my last day as me with the people I loved doing it with.

I waited for 6 weeks, per doctors orders, to get back golfing. The day it hit 6 weeks (I was counting it down with anticipation) I went out that day to the range hit some balls and was very internally frustrated with my body. It wasn't ready so I gave up on golf and haven't played since. Too painful of a reminder of what I lost and checked out from the game I love.

Time warp for me, I have a set of Adams CMB that were hot back in the day I got them that have been sitting in my bag, never played. Just hit a few times at the frustrating range session that turned me off to golf. Now, those irons are just a footnote in irons history kind of like me and playing golf.

The next nice weekday we have around here I may get back out to the range to test my body again. I know this isn't what I shot-themed, but I've thought about playing now and again and always tell myself today is not that day. Probably isn't anytime soon despite what I wrote I would like to do next week. Been working hard on my body for the first time since my surgery. Down 16lbs and feeling some mental and physical energy not felt in years.

Good for you. Now, get out there when you can and smash a damn golf ball again. Good Karma. ๐ŸŒ

        Thanks, brother!

Alomst time. My body only has a down elevator now. She has to drop some more floors before I get back out there. I'm curious where my distance is after these 7 years. Used to be a long ball hitter. That day at the range I sure wasn't. Lost over 50 yards off the driver, but I was way too tentative. I shouldn't be as strong as I was then due to age, but am curious to see how I can blast it now vs. my hey day.

The bee propolis and Berberine are playing their part as well. Highly recommended supplements.

Well after my stroke a few months ago, I started golfing again and working at the course.
Never thought I'd miss cutting/trimming fairway and tee box markers, but I most certainly DID.
As for golf, I still get fatigued pretty quickly but my doc had me get off the Amiodarone (a black label drug),
and the energy factor should start to improve.

Played in our Thurs. Men's League last week and shot a horrendous 111,might have been my highest
        score ever.
Yesterday in the same league I shot a 91 with a couple of birdies and a few 3 putts, so starting to
trend in the right direction.......man it just feels so good to play again, you have no idea! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

ode Iโ€™ve 3 putts plenty of times on our About Golf Sim. Some of the slopes are brutal. I actually 5 putted before. I hate thw putting.

          • ode replied to this.

Typhoon it would be one thing if we were actually putting but this is simulated putting ๐Ÿคฎ, seems to happen frequently outside 40 feet.....rather miss the green and take my chances chipping.to get.it to gimme range. I played another machine where I actually putted that was interesting for sure. Putted one off a green and down a slope 50y away๐Ÿ˜

On ours you actually only putt the ball to the screen which is 14 feet away but you have to hit a 40 footer like itโ€™s a 40 footer. You see the grid on the screen for break and elevation changes too. We usually have the stimpmeter on the computer set at 10.

Bigger gimme range would help too!

I tell people the putting sucks, use the 12 foot gimme range so you get to play more holes and hit actual shots. Donโ€™t waste your time putting

Typhoon yep that's what it was like with the map/grid on the one where you had to putt.....I think we did 8 ft. for gimme. I think the guy set it.at auto 2 putt....I of.course broke the machine.when I putted off the green and had to chip back on....."where's my auto 2 putt"๐Ÿ˜†

Been too wet to golf, but now it looks like you folks up north are going to open up the valve and pump some of that cold down here. Then it will be too cold to golf.

In the teens here and not much warmer for a week.
