WOW what a show @ MSG!!!

Coner Mcgregor put one helluva beating on the Champ Eddie Alverez, knocking him out in the 2nd round
with a couple devastating lefts.
"The Notorious" is one badass Irishman who can REALLY "talk the talk and walk the walk"!
And is now the first UFC fighter to hold two title belts at the same time.
It'll be interesting to see if Dana White let's him keep both.

Some great matches all night especially the welter weight title fight between Woodley and Thompson.
This fight ended in a draw but the fourth round was epic and how Stephen Thompson managed to survive
some viscous blows to the head and a near fatal choke hold,is anybody's guess....one tough dude!
The girls were great too!

Connor destroyed Alvarez....who is tough as hell, but did not look so vs. Connor, that left is like a heat seeking missile.

Who will he face next? Tony Ferguson or Khabib N. or does he go down to 145 to defend....I'd like to see him fight Frankie Edgar or Nate Holloway, if that is the direction the ufc wants to go.....all great fighters but no big names. (Although I would argue Edgar is, he just does not seem to be a big draw)....I'm sure the fans would soak up Connor/Diaz 3, but me personally do not want to see it, unless Diaz actually beats someone at 155 and earns it.

Not sure what the ufc will do with him holding both belts, with having a baby on the way....does not seem like enough room for him to have both belts, basically holding one belt hostage.

Dana White stated that he felt Connor is one of the few who could hold both belts and defend them properly. I would like to see him fight Ferguson as he is a tough guy as well, but doubt he could beat Mcgregor. I'm not pleased with Mcgregor's arrorgance, but he certainly can back it up.

letthebigdogshunt I agree he could, but the featherweight and lightweight division loses out on a title fight when he's defending the other belt....no way he just walks through everyone....Nick Diaz has something to say about that.....albeit at a weight class he has little business competing in....he's going to need time to recover....IMO I don't think Dana cares, he's going to milk his cash cow whether the fans need to wait or not for the other divisions title fight....the brand will continue to grow, but the other top contenders get hosed while they wait. It's too bad Dos Anjos got hurt as Connor would have taken the belt back then, instead he had to go the route of taking a money fight with Diaz at a weight class he was not prepared to fight in, all the while the featherweight division sat and waited for Diaz 1, Diaz 2, and Alvarez. If he defends the lightweight belt next, that will be 4 fights the featherweight top contenders weight for their shot.. IMO it's getting a bit out of hand.

Not to take anything away from McGregor... he's obviously the main attraction right now for the UFC. But he's extremely naive to believe that his recent success affords him the privilege to somehow become eligible to buy into the business side of the UFC moving forward.

He should just be satisfied with his life-changing purses and riding this out as far as it takes him, but his intentions of holding the sport hostage in lieu of some sort of partial ownership of the sport is extremely short-sided and arrogant. The sport did okay before him, and they'll do just fine when he's no longer around.

Can't blame the guy for trying to get what he can while he is hot. There is not a long career for MMA fighters. But he is very arrogant that is for sure. I don't like him and never have, yet I admire him for what he has done in the UFC.

It's just bluster to put pressure on Dana/UFC to pay him more....no way he gets partial ownership.

Initially I thought the same thing, but this dude thinks an awful lot of himself. The fact of the matter is that he's only one square punch away from being just another former MMA fighter. His shock-jock schtick won't have as much credibility when his ass is laying on the canvas.

There's always someone bigger and badder. He'll find that out soon enough.

You are right, at some point he'll start to lose an no one will pay attention to him.....however, I don't blame him for his antics and self promotion and believe me, either does Dana....it brings viewers...in some ways I'd love to see him be pitted against Frankie Edgar, as he's all business and no or very little shenanigans.
