I'm going to putt with it just to see ---- Wow, that might be one of the last balata wound balls on earth without a smile in it. IIRC back in the early sixties the Titleist and Spalding Black Dot ball were very popular and even then were $1.25 each. All it took was one little thin shot and the cover cut. I wonder how many golfers these days have ever seen a wound ball with a smile in it?
Eguller Eguller Yeah, the old " I made it a lady " with one thin/bladed shot. In my collection, I've actually found quite a few balata balls in various forms. This Ram is probably from the early to mid 80's and almost new.
meagain Eguller Not balata but if someone wants to hit old balls. Have dozens of Lee Trevino Rawlings golf balls. Still sealed in the case that they came in from the factory. Never handled or seen the light of day. Last dozen I sold was to the Rawlings Corp. to put in their display case at the company lobby. Do have some unopened sleeves or single balls I could part with. 2 piece Surlyn cover. Dozens are also for sale if anyone is a ball collector. Like these only untouched. Don't even use my bare hands when I remove a dozen from the shipping box. Not yellowed, pure white. Par4QC Walterjn You aren't going to gain much, if anything over those irons. They were great clubs 'then' and they will be great today. I noticed your 3 wood is a 3+, ""Strong Three", and iirc, that is 12 or 13*, not 15.
Walterjn Par4QC I kinda figured that I was making a good purchase when I got these. Actually had a guy offer me $200.00 over purchase price, before I bought them. At that point, I figured that if I could hit pretty well with them, I was making a good buy. I can hit pretty well with them. Last Saturday I got back to the range and saw that the driver was regularly carrying 190-200 yards without much problem, and that 3+ would reach out to 200 yards carry for me.

Par4QC Walterjn Yeah, that driver. Can be improved upon by quite a bit even with getting something 6-8 yrs. old. I say that old, because you can find them for a nickel sometimes.

Walterjn Sarnella Honestly, I was going to ask about is I should replace that driver. I didn't really get to hit it too much on my 1st trip to the range before I bought the clubs. I was really looking to see if I was comfortable hitting them and not worried about distances right then. A callaway xr for $100 + shipping?? Let me see about getting paid this week and I think I will be taking you up on that. Would you be willing to take a postal money order??
