The Purple Mattress
Yeah weird name for a mattress!
So we were in the market for a new mattress because I was getting tired of waking up
every morning with a sore back.
We ch. out Sleep Number, Serta, Tempur Pedic and a few others, but heard really good things
about the Purple.
So that's what we got and with a 100 day try it or send it back policy, we couldn't hardly go wrong.
The Purple 3 Hybrid is without a doubt the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on!
It's breathable so you never get too hot like the memory foams, excellent support (no more
backache in the morning) kind of pricey though....but when you consider you spend about a
third of your life in bed, WHY SKIMP?
Also the Purple Harmony Pillow is a game/sleep changer, not like any other pillow made.
At $159 (WTF) they're more than worth it, IF you like to sleep well! IMO
Here's some pics for those who never heard of these:
This how they're shipped, and they are HEAVY! ( Our Cal King weighed 205lbs.)
This is the proprietary shape of the mattress, kind of odd but it more than works.
The pillow (well no shit Sherlock)!
I also made our existing frame into an adjustable bed.
Hinged a 24" piece of Melonite, added a couple remote controlled 6" actuators and the damn thing
actually worked....total cost about $160.
CPAP Mask Still on the sleep stuff in case anybody got this far!
After my recent stroke I had to do a sleep study, turns out I have mild sleep apnea.
They said I quit breathing while sleeping, about 6 times per hour. HUH???
Damn that sounded like a LOT to me, but a guess some people who have chronic sleep apnea,
stop breathing 25-30 times per hour....I think I'd be dead by then!
I wound up getting the ResMed Dreamstation, pretty quiet,, has a humidifier and a heated tube.
Felt a little strange at first as I started with the full mask that covered both the mouth and the nose.
Didn't like it at all, kept leaking, felt claustrophobic and could hardly get to sleep.
Then I tried the P30 nasal pillows mask, WAY better....seals tighter, not so cumbersome,
and the hose attaches to the top of your head so it's pretty much out of the way.
The cool part is Medicare pays for everything but the CPAP cleaner.
Here's the mask I now use, looks a little funky but it works!
Just about time to go to bed!:
