Are there any new offerings coming out? I haven't seen a component iron head that has caught my eye in quite a while. The Maltby TS1 is the last new head...

Alpha Response heads are very good if you need a medium-wide sole width and offset. The kicker on them is they are 304SS.

true not cheap, but worth it and probably stop the continued turnstile of lesser quality components . Plus when it comes time to sell them, they hold their value and you wont have to give them away for $12 shipped.😉

It's my dilemma. I know that investing in higher end clubs means curtailing the ho-ing of the cheap stuff......which I really enjoy. But the new stuff is always so sweet.

Maltby ts1 are superior to the pings i200 and i500 at a fraction of the price- I've played them all😉. Maltby were longer and more forgiving than the i200 and better turf interaction and better consistency (not hotspots) than the i500. But, I've gone to the wishon sterlings and haven't looked back... Have you tried single length yet Steve?

Yes. I can't make enough clubhead speed to launch the mid irons. I only use 8 - W in irons. I use a hybrid at 31 degree loft. 8 - W is short enough in shaft length that single length doesn't make sense.

Yeah, once the 6 iron gets down to 140, the need for fantastic irons goes away. At that point it’s more about the soles, feel, and especially accuracy.

Those hollow headed irons... I can’t stand the sound or the feel. As much as I love the look of the Ping i500 irons... they are hollow and feel like crap with that “click” and the awful sound.
Why isn’t everyone filling the heads with foam like TM does on the p790’s?
Our indoor pro picked up the hollow headed Titleist irons and he was hitting them. You could t tell if he hit one good or bad by listening to it. He handed me the 4 iron and I hit a bunch. All had no feel, just that unsatisfying click. I grabbed my Nike VPC 4iron... just feels and sounds sooooo much better.

scotts33 Has anyone ever done a test on golf club feel where the person swinging the club had noise cancelling headphones on? I swear I have hit some clubs I could feel in my hands did not feel good.

Steve, if you are looking for something different I have a set of Integra Powerbar irons. Very solid. All the heads are the same size but different weights, all 2mm offset and jacked lofts. if you are on WRX they would say once the 6 gets down to 200 you are over the hill and not relevant. 😂

Why am I thinking it would be just the opposite? I'm not far from that 7 iron number and I think some jacked iron that gets me ten more yards would be a much bigger help to me then some guy who hits his 7 190. I also don't carry a 6I.
