I tried them for two days and liked the taste but they sat in my belly like gravel. Perhaps my gizzard is not functioning properly.

Par4QC I'm going to order a couple boxes next time just to see if they have them in stock here. If they don't get shipped South, I've got plenty of squirrels running around every day. @ $3.12/box, it's cheap feed. For any one or animal. 😄

I guess this makes me weird, but I like Grape Nuts, too. I get the store brand version, but they taste the same.
Usually I just add them to some other cereal, although sometimes I will eat a whole bowl of just Grape Nuts. I use whole milk, though.

Subsonic Grape Nuts are loaded with iron. You won't need diapers; just the opposite. Maybe a log chain for the jam-up.

Just set me up a bowl to soak. I love being 'full of it'. 😆

Maybe now that I'm old I would like them? Haven't tried them since I was maybe a teenager, but I also hated golf back then so.... Probably won't bother though. I can't handle dairy now that I'm old so I don't do cereal & milk.

Our local stores have store-brand versions that taste exactly the same. I haven't looked lately, so maybe they are gone, too? My guess is that the knock-off brands are probably still available........

I bought a box when all of this started a few weeks ago. It tastes ok but sits in your stomach like gravel in a goose's gizzard. Perhaps I ate too much of it but I tossed the box after several attempts. Oatmeal, Cream of Wheat or Cheerios for me. Or anything else with bacon.

BTW, my wife was having Grape Nuts in her yogurt every day. Back around the beginning of Dec (maybe earlier), she could not find it and hasn't been able to since.

We have instead been making our own granola.

Rickochet I just pour out what looks like "enough". Then I actually did read the box and it says serving size is 1/2 cup. that's not very much at all. It does swell to probably 1 1/2 cups, after soaking a long while. It does that in the stomach also. I let it soak a long time, that way it's 'done' when it goes down, and.....tastes like wild hickory nuts!
