think about if just you alone went out and hit each shot 4 times , playing the best one, I am a 6-7 handicap and fairly certain that I would shoot into the double digits under par. With 4;putts on every green, hard not to miss unless you are 30+ feet away . Hell, John ( Typhoon) shoots 10 under on one ball, he could likely shoot 20 under alone.
there is a big advantage to having a bomber in your group. Most of these events are played from very short tee distances ( 6000-6400) When DC300 , Bigdaddy , Hackingnewbieinnewyork and I played in that one..DC was driving greens that were 340/350. Chuck and I weren't exactly short hitters and hack put the ball in play off every tee so we could wail away. DC
actually drove it over an uphill hole that was mid 300's. We were on or around every par 5 in 2. We shot something like -17 or 18 and closest to us was -9. Im sure some thought we cheated.
golf is a game if honour and while some people cheat, its pretty hard to believe that you would get 4 dishonest guys who would all conspire to do that. Maybe a 4some of Judge Smails, Trump, kim jong il and Patrick Reed 🙂
