LBlack14 Damn Unc, I'm so sorry to hear this. Roscoe had Pancreatitis back in '18. Spent a few nights in the hospital, but came out with flying colors. Nothing but the best to Birdie and her family.
sdandrea1 Thanks guys. Liver test came back ok. Doc is baffled. It's been going on for several weeks but declining to the point where she has stopped eating and won't get out of her bed. Next step might be overnight stay on a saline IV and internal cameras.
Weirfan sdandrea1 seems too obvious but a neighbour's dog had something similar happen to their dog and turns out there was a mass in back upper part the dog's mouth that was causing pain so it stopped eating. hopefully your vet can find the problem
sdandrea1 Drove down to Richmond to see an internal medicine specialist. Waiting on ultrasound and possible endoscopy. Additional bummer is that today is SWMBO'S birthday. We're supposed to be at our daughter's house celebrating right now.
Rickochet Best wishes for you and Birdie. Our little girl is 5 and we get really concerned when she has issues. Please keep up posted.
FauxAmish She looks so much like my first buddy Ching in 1964. He was a peakinese with similar colors to your shitzou. Either way you will be losing a family member as important to any that you will ever again encounter. MY best Steve.
sdandrea1 Just got back from Richmond. The internal specialist is stumped. Not enough indicators in any lab work to ascertain any disease. Her liver is abnormally small and rough in texture (sonogram). No obstruction on her gastrointestinal system. Bottom line is we spent $2k in the last 3 days and they wanted another $4k to "maybe" figure it out. We brought her home. Decision tomorrow. We're both a mess. Wife's birthday today....... Thanks so much for all the well wishes.
colej sdandrea1 lets hope tomorrow morning she wakes up and is feeling better! My big dog Hannah was acting very strange one time and I think all it amounted to was a pulled muscle. Hoping for the best Steve.
