Typhoon I guess that could bring up a whole new discussion/argument.... why does the playing field have to be level by giving strokes and catering to a worse golfer? Isn’t that like giving someone who can’t keep up distance wise a set of hi-cor clubs so they can keep up?
That is a whole new discussion. With handicaps there are net and gross tournaments so if you don't like giving strokes you can play gross only. I guess they could have tournaments where all equipment is legal, conforming or not. But there's not enough "magic" equipment out there to allow a 20 hdcp to keep up with a 5 hdcp. Leagues would be virtually non existent because 80% of the guys couldn't compete without handicaps.
