I would appreciate the experts' comments on whether the mentioned shaft could be recommended for a driver ss 106-110 mph swing. Quick tempo.Medium trajectory...

There re so many choices on graphite shaft now, it's not even funny.

I have seen similar shafts price ranged from $60-$70 all the way to over $300. Would the $300 shaft be 4 times better than the lower price line ? Or just a little better ?

I believe it's the hands that swing the golf club really matter. When golfers get to that stage, they could basically adjusting to anything put in their hands. Of course a better fit for their game could mean a few strokes difference and golf is a game which the winner and the runner up could be separated by just a single stroke.
I had found in the past the SK fiber launched a little high for my game, but I hadn't tried any of their new stuff.

I guess we'll all going to throw our own personal preferences - so I'll carry on - but I've always thought Graman shafts felt like your son describes - not tip stiff, don't feel too butt stiff but can handle higher (than average) swing speeds and quicker tempo - G70?

Like Release says there's a ton of shafts out there!

He is a 30 years old kid and his dislike of high kick-point shafts is due to feel. Of course, he can handle them but he feels that he has to for it with everything.McIlroy is (or was) using the Blueboard that unlike the Whiteboard, has a mid kick point. I will try the G70 from Graman,provided I can find a distributor in Europe. Shipping costs from the States is very high,then I he has to pay VAT (26 per cent on the shaft cost + shipping) and custom duties on top of it.

If he is looking for certain feel and launch characteristic of driver shafts, then, there is no substitute for hands on trial and error.

I would lean towards a softer X flex if he is looking for mid to mid high launch and a softer feel.

Remembering the HOF White shaft ( made in Taiwan ) has a soft X flex which launched mid-high and very playable.
Someone here had wanted to buy another one in the buy/sell section.

It was the HOF Whup N Shaft Proto ( Taiwan ). It had a pronounced spine, once you FLO the shaft it was very smooth.

I had one of the Taiwan HOF shafts that I sold to maugust back on fgi. I think he's one here too. I think he was looking for a second one too.

I took a HOF Patriot Regular flex and tipped it 1.5". It worked great in my RBZ Tour. I'm looking to sell it now that I have the Ping.

I read up some on the SkFiber Pure Energy and it looks like it's no longer the wet noodle I had years ago. In fact, I'd like to give it another go.

I believe I got one HOF Whup n Shaft from someone from FGI, maybe PAR4QC ?

It played a soft X flex and I enjoyed for some time, eventually traded to someone else on the FGI ........
I'm digging the Pershing 65X now, also got it from a member of FGI. We'll see , if this body does not return to the pumpkin like the Cinderella story.

Why don't you contact diamond golf in England, they now own the wishon brand and have been selling the wishon line for years. The s2s line of shafts is excellent and at a good price point.

Ode, I am 70 and my bag is thoroughly Wishon except the putter (Nike Unitized).I play 771 CSI irons on Accra shafts.I own a good collection of drivers including 4 Japanese ones .My 919THI is on a Graman GMAXXX 48 and I can assure you it is as long and accurate as my Ryoma Maxima and an has an identical mute sound at impact*.I hope Tom will continue his design activity.
Finally my son had the PE S flex tipped one inch and his driving is better than ever after 3 rounds playing it.

The Ryoma is a US$1,250 club.

Balleszabal Wow. Japanese clubs can be expensive!

I'm also gaming a 919THI and it really IS a solid driver. Consistent. And the sound at impact is just solid. Not tinny at all.

Believe me the sound and feeling of the Ryoma and the 919THI are practically identical.
Incidentally, what loft and shaft are you playing in yours?
