Spuzz (as there is no ball known to man that can help you decrepit old geezers get it out there)
As I sat here reading this statement, I was thinking...."That man is full of shit, and he doesn't know it, so I must let him know". So, now you know. 🤣
I'm no different than others here trying to find a ball that gives me the max distance for my swing. Along the way in the search, I've found several that are just what a lot of people are wanting....soft balls. And they go about 20 yds. shorter than the balls I've ended up playing the past few years. One of them is what this OP is about, D2 Feel. It is a good ball, if it's what you are satisfied with. So are the Laddie X balls. Add in those Srixon Soft Feel people rave about, and a few of the Cally softs. I could go on. Fact is, for my swingspeed, they are short. Like I posted above, I use a lot of 70+ compression balls, and they typically have a firmer cover. And when I hit them with a driver, they feel like mush, for the most part, but that feeling does not entirely come from the ball.
It comes from where the hit was made on the clubface. Feels like a rock, you hit the toe, buddy! Feels like a marshmallow, you hit it dead center, same ball, different feel. Different distance results.
There is extra distance for us decrepit old geezers, you just have to find it. Don't get hung up on 'soft'; you may be shorting yourself. By a bunch.
And the answer to the next question is......I have no clue, never been on a monitor to see. Let me guess somewhere between 80 & 90. Yesterday, it was probably closer to the 90. I'm hurting today, but had some huge drives, for me.
What I play:
TF Gamer- it is 3 pc., the old version, not V2.
Bigg Golf
Played these along the way this year....
Callaway Hex Warbird
Srixon QStar Tour 2(just gave them all to Jake)
All 4 perform the same, distance and controlwise. Costs are only diff. jmo
