Taki27 That’s what was cool about those days, I was spending more than I should on golf equipment, but if I had a question or any issue, these guys were right on it. Mike answered way too many questions and even replaced a head for me that I bought on FGI and promptly cracked the face on. Steve sent me not less than a dozen heads to get rolling in LD/ supply to others with some potential. Tom Wishon personally reaching out to me about a manufacturing issue with a set of 870ti’s I bought used, sending 3 replacement heads for the sake of doing the right thing. Tim from TourSwing took care of me on 3 separate occasions, going above and beyond when I broke the face on his drivers (turns out they were not intended for guys over 105mph on the 5n2) actually just threw a Spuzz head in my scrap pile, big gayazz blue “Rocket” that I cracked the face all the way across (at one point in my life I wanted to do something with it.. life). To me, the amount I was spending was a lot, (it wasn’t in real terms) but it was so much more valuable to know I had the owners of the company at my fingertips to help. Hell even (Jason?) Accuflex was there hooking us up with deals and replacing broken shafts, Value Golf got me help when the “hump” shafts I bought from them all bent at the hosel. Those were the days and what made the FGI community special. Your 1-2k my 2-4k, others spending 10k a year all added up to good things for the sponsors and gave us all a great place to enjoy the information and comrades.
I sure do miss it, but these days I don’t spend hardly anything on equipment any more, do very little tinkering at all. I presume a lot of people are in the same boat. No sales = no time to shoot the breeze with customers.
