I have not. I've always used slightly upright std length irons between D0 and D2.

Worth a shot - 1/2" over and 2* flat with a test 7 iron or so. Just sayin'.

I’m 5'11" with shortish legs and long arms and torso. I always fit my self for half an inch short but as a senior I switched to quarter inch over(38 1/4 5 iron) and 2 flat. I hit irons more on center and cleaner than ever. I made the switch to regain some distance. I believe a lot of different lengths can be used( within reason) if the lie is correct. As for woods they’re all just hollow titanium Easter eggs. The OEM'S just load them up with indentations, plastic decorations and screws on the sole because that’s what shows in the store rack. Max COR is max COR. Pick one that sets up to your eye( I can’t do closed faces), over 95 mph get stiff, under a good regular) stay around 10.5 loft( I actually do good with a 9.5 SMT Indio)and your good to go.

Made my own clubs for 20+ years now! Get to balance weight and flex to make sure the set is consistent. The ability to measure things makes me aware of how inconsistent OEM builds can be,
So yes, I'm biased.
Can do the same with OEM parts, but components are so much easier to deal with.

I'm happy to say that I'm here to learn, and this forum is a fount of knowledge!! Thank you all for sharing that knowledge! Soon I shall be building 3 component irons and a 5 wood.

As to components versus OEM goes, I am at 100% OEM now, butji had some good rounds using clones that Uncle Steve built and gave me for free. I couldn't really tell a difference between those irons and OEMs. I have since donated those irons, because, well, TopFlite OMG! Lol. Those babies are still in the bag.

My best score ever was with an all component bag with the exception of a Slotline lob wedge. This week I got close to that with an all OEM bag with the exception of two Inazone wedges.
