I laughed at them explaining why there was a Max and no plus. It reminded me of the Spinal Tap clip about the Amp going to 11.

itll be interesting to see what the MOI numbers are. Ping has made such good drivers the last couple years with the 400 and the 410 I wonder what will be the selling feature on this one. At least the 410 now had the moveable weight.

Sole looks similar to the 410. Assuming they will continue with the fins on the crown. Having hit the 400 max and currently playing the G LST.....ping has really stepped up their driver game starting with the g30 to present. Trying out a Cobra LTD and it's gonna give the G LST a real run for it's 💰

The most significant change in new models now is that they lower the price of the previous model.

sdandrea1 Got a good deal on a new G400 about 6 weeks ago and hit it quite well my first time out with it. Didn't see any distance gains, but it sure does seem to have the forgiveness as advertised. The only bad drive I hit on the day was a sky ball where I swayed forward and then hit down off the top edge. Don't deserve to be forgiven for that. Fortunately it didn't damage the finish.

The Ping drivers from G25 onward have been perhaps the best out there for the average golfer. The 400max is unparalleled for forgiveness and is really long.

I bought a used G30 in pristine condition this spring. I don't know if it's the SF (Straight Flite) Technology or the Alta
shaft, but I have never hit the driver this well...! Played today, and hit 11 of 13 fairways! They are very solid
clubs!!!

The G400max is the most fun club I have ever hit. I can’t see Ping improving on it. In fact, adding a movable weight IMO would be a step backwards.

I think Ping is just swapping out the “plus” name for “max”.... it’s not going to be the “special“ addition to the line like it originally was.

fun is a good description. It is really a hard to mishit clubhead.
my only minor quibble is that the shape for me reduces my ability to work the ball....but this driver isn't designed to do that, its designed to go straight, which it does. I can hit a straight and fade but this one wont turn over for me unless i hit it way off the toe and get gear effect. Even then it typically goes straight and long

It could be improved by offering it in 12°. I would have bought one but I can no longer handle 10.5°. I know it's adjustable but that doesn't seem to work for me on this head. I tried it out at max loft and several shafts but none gave me a drive with any height. I've found that, for me, a head works better if it starts at 12° and then I can make minor adjustments.

I really don’t try to draw or fade this on purpose. I naturally hit a little draw. I think to intentionally fade the ball id have to set the club down, open the face, take my grip and swing normally.

Sounds good on paper! But this thing is nuts, I’ve been saying it all along

Sometimes I’ll catch one out on the toe and it ends up a looping hook back in the middle of the fairway!

That's why I keep my Rogue. The longest drives are off the toe cuz they are a lowish draw that run 20-30 yards beyond my center hits lol.

Almost bought one the other day. I draw my iron shots, but mostly fade the driver and wouldn't mind a bit of draw bias. I tried a draw biased TM driver not long ago and was killing that thing straight.

I'm sad to say that PING has lost it's luster for me. It started with the ferrules on the i20 irons and now they're just another OEM to me. They used to be so unique.

Are you feeling OK ? The ferrules on the i20 were somewhat unique. PING is still top notch - a few of
the best drivers on the market, superb irons, great wedges/putter/bags and unbeatable customer service.
