colej I have 110 F4 in my irons. Seems to work well for me and no pain from my old elbow or wrist injuries. I have been inconsistent with them and may try to go back to steel, but I think it's just my crappy swing that's the issue.

I've gotten a couple of range sessions in, and the STi2s/NV-85s are legit, no doubt about it. Had to schedule a couple of half-days off over the next two weeks to get them back on the course. HAD TO!

Round 2 with the Sti2s was even better. Missed 3 greens - one fairway bunker shot that was well struck and dead on line, but 5 feet short - easy par; one hybrid from 205 that was just off the fringe, and one 50 yard pitch that I chunked. Funny how your putting goes to complete sheet when you are hitting your irons well.

The PTM definitely feels better than the TS1 or STi2. The PTM full forging is soft. Looks and feel, the PTM can't be beat.

To me, the PTM was visually HUGE. If you set it down next to the TS1, it only looks a tiny bit bigger, but for some reason behind the ball it just looked huge to me. STi2 is even a bit smaller than the TS1. I had two different PTM sets, and I just couldn't get the head squared consistently.

No doubt the PTM would work well for many, it just didn't for me.

I have passed the 6 month mark with the STi2s. While I like the heads, truth is my score average is 2 higher than my prior TS1 set. I know some bad putting covers some of that.

I average 2.2 birdies per round. But in my last 10 rounds, I have had 10 birdies, 8 of which have been on par 5s, 1 on a SW approach, and 1 STi2 approach. I'm beginning to think I am just not as accurate with the STi2/lighter graphite combo.

There, now I've convinced myself.

Hmmm, TS2 pre-assembled sets are back in stock. Sub70 might be nice. Hogan demos should get here in a week. What to do?

Sounds like a shootout ! I think you can do the demo thing with Sub70 also. I liked the TS2, but for me, the
Sti2 ticked all the boxes - feel/accurace & distance. Oh...and price. But, I haven't hit the PTMs.

My iron play has sucked of late. Ive been using the same KE4Tour + since they came out (black version, now satin) with Nippon 950GH reg shafts, but I built a demo of a tS2 7i with a Maltby iron shaft. Ive never played graphite in my irons so i was surprised how much I liked the club. It was 1 club longer, but felt a little harsh. But it made me think its time to change to new irons, and i'm ready to try graphite
So questions for you guys - go with TS2 or STi2? And thoughts on a diff shaft that may not feel as harsh as the Maltby?

I thought the PTM was the best looking and feeling of all Maltbys, but they were too big for my taste.

Nat ts2,s are definitely long....but it's mostly due to the loft. COG is the highest too on the ts2 vs. the STi2 and ke4 tour+, that could play a role as well. Love the sole design on the ts2. They really got that right.

Nat Nat, do you mean the TT Score shaft (that is Maltby's go to iron shaft)?

I've found the Nippon shafts to be the best feeling steel, so you may be out of steel options. It has been about 10 years since I played steel regularly though, so I may have to consider that. Although I do have a couple dozen new graphite irons shafts in the garage dangit.

TS2 v. STi2: The STi2 performance is very similar. I'd have a hard time justifying the $30 difference on performance alone. The TS2 feels a little better. The TS2 looks a lot better. The one physical difference I would note is that the COG on the STi2 is much lower than the TS2.

Sparky Jeff was right, I meant the Maltby graphite shaft.
Thanks for the feedback re the STi2 v TS2. The other thing I noticed was I had the occasional bomb with the TS2. I recall that being an issue with the hollow irons.
I probably will get an sti2 head to demo vs the ts2. And also try my ke4 tour+ with a graphite, just to see if that changes things

Sparky it has a different feel to it. IMO it is not harsh, just different......as has every hollow iron that I've played.....takes a bit to get used to......these were by far the best feeling ones I've demo,d or played. Where the hollow irons can feel a bit harsher then a traditional iron is on a mishit!

Actually the last shaft I had in the ts2 was the Wishon s2s red. I hit that really well, which surprised me.....I did add some weight to the head and played it +0.25". Got some ridiculous numbers out of that combo! The TSi2's are in the bag with Nippon 1150's and I really like these a lot. Feel is just ok, IMO more solid all around when considering center, slight mishits, and mishits....but on center with the ts2 is nicer for sure! I guess the Nippon's are supposed to have some magic in the feel department....having demo'd the Modus 120, 125, 130 as well as the 105 (only a few shots) and have played the 1150 quite a bit, I don't see much in it as far feel vs. other steel shafts. I like the 1150's for the performance they are so good!

Yep, had them twice, sold both.

I really thought the PTM were the most GI of all Maltby heads (pre-890). They were really great feeling, but very high flying and visually seemed large to me. I really had a hard time getting that face to close consistently.

But very beautiful and felt great. Perhaps the best GI head I've ever hit, I just can't do larger iron heads.
