Honestly I liked the STi2 PW and GW just as much as the TS1. But then again, I think I only had 2 hits with each. But yeah, I think the STi2/TS1 mix could work well.

Man, I wish I had a list of all the graphite iron shafts I have tried...Matrix Kujoh 95, Wishon Interflexx, Kuro Kage 80, SK Fiber Tour Trac 95, Recoil 110, Recoil 680, Recoil 660, SteelFiber 115, Project X PXv, Fuji Pro 95, Miyazaki Jinsoku 78.

My TS1s have a set of old UST Tour Weight graphite shafts - 110-114 grams. Those shafts have been in several set of heads for me, they are so good. The new Aldila 85s really worked for me today, and I have not had much success with <100 gram shafts.

Sparky how did the NV 85 compare to the Tour Trac 95?

I’ve gone back to heavier steel shafts in my irons after trying many sub 100 gram graphite shafts, mostly for consistency. I did try some old Matrix shafts that were over 100 gram, but they were so inconsistent I bailed on them after 2 or 3 rounds. I may yet try another set of +100 gram graphite shafts if the right combo comes along. Glad to hear these are working for you, Maltby is back in the game!

Sparky Good list of iron shafts. I had some of those UST in the Wishon 550 when they first came out. I am interested to hear more about your rounds with the NV and how they fare historically against all the others you have used.
I Recoil 680 are good-- but I always wonder if I would benefit from something a bit "tighter"

Compared to all the graphite iron shafts you have tried over the years, where would you rank these NV shafts in feel and dispersion? I may buy some in R flex to put in my TS2’s. EDIT-just looked at the specs and I would have to get the stiff flex and soft step them to stay at the desired weight. Looks like the regular flex ends at 64 grams, way too light for me.

Taki27 how did the NV 85 compare to the Tour Trac 95?

It has been quite a while, but I remember the Tour Trac 95s playing very stiff for me. Unfortunately, I had them in some Vulcan forged iron heads that I did not like, so I didn't give the Tour Trac 95s much of an audition.

Sparky thanks. I’m glad that STIs look better in person. Why is it that the Maltby website pictures almost always make the heads look worse?

So these are the Sonar Wrap Calibrate grips. I got a free one from Lamkin recently and thought it felt good, so I gave them a shot here. I can't say that I even noticed the Calibrate spine today, so not sure that is necessary. The Sonar Wrap feels nice. I've been using Pure Wraps, and I still prefer those...their material feels a little stickier. Still, the SWC felt really good today. I was having a little sweaty right hand feels on my driver (Pure) but didn't notice anything like that on my irons. So I'm going to give these a thumbs up.

No sir. No assembly charge (surprised me), no loft/lie adjustment charge.

colej I want to build a set of the TS2 as well. Also the KE4 hybrid and fairway look really nice too. Not sure what to get for shafts though. Currently gaming Recoil 110, but may try steel again.

I went with the aerotech 95 in the hybrid. Got the results I wanted but wanted just a bit more height. So I reshafted with the aerotech hls880 hybrid shaft. I’ll let you know how that goes.

I have not had any success with any of the Recoil iterations I have tried. Last time was a set of Maltby PTMs with Recoils. Looked great, felt great, but man was I inconsistent with them.

Light weight or heavier weight Recoils ? The light ones can be soft feeling.
