In my days for pilot training (March 1980), the AF had a min and max height plus a max sitting height (didn't want the head to be the first thing through the canopy upon ejection. Max sitting height caused a few to be dropped after the first week. Plus, 20/20 vision. I had a waiver for my eye injury.
I work in the F-35 program office now and the F-35 ejection seat ended up being too powerful manufacturer wanted to set a 135lb min which would have excluded folks, especially some women. Can't have that, so fixed so all are welcome.
