sdandrea1 I went into the PGA Superstore in Myrtle today. Same dismal look as last year's visit. Low inventory on new stuff, no decent markdowns on NOS, and STUPID HIGH prices on preowned.

Which PGASS - Myrtle or North Myrtle ? And, I agree with your assessment. Same for me last February
with just a few bargains on gloves and clearance clothes/shoes.

We always found North easier on the wallet. Never did try to work a trade there.

Those days are gone. When that store was Martin's Golf &Tennis, they had huge blowout sales and shitloads of used clubs at bargain basement prices. I remember buying a new old stock PING Rapture driver for $99 and a Rapture FW for $79. Days gone by.......

sdandrea1 I tried them out at Golf Galaxy - not bad. I'll wait till the next "best thing since sliced bread" comes out and then get the Mavriks for $200 or less. Should be in about 3 months. I haven't purchased a "new" club of any brand when they come out in years, just wait a few months and get half off...

Point-and-shoot-stupid-EZ-to-hit. Typical Callaway shovel (I got the Max model). Nice turf interaction, nice distance and high flight. These are lofted a tad weaker than the regular Mavrik. Like most any iron, if you put a good swing on it, you get a good shot. 😁

BUT... even if you don’t put a good swing on it it still goes. They’re great irons.

Smart man. I was in a mood when I bought these. Irons are irons. Get the right shaft and fit and they all work once you're dialed in. I actually miss having some of my classics.
