Check out the SMT heads at Diamondtour golf.....still just $9.99. I suggest the Indio.

Other than that, Geek No Brainer or DCT are great, but sometimes wallet breakers.

The good news is, the driver is the easiest OEM club to get in component form. You can go to ebay any time and find just about any OEM head you could want, in component form. Yes, they're going to be more expensive than ordering true components, but it's still cheaper than buying OEM off the rack when they first hit the market.

There are some new Geek DCT out there, and the Gang Golf is also a good choice. Talk to the BangOman and he might set you up for connections. These are time tested products, static weight could be just a hair heavier than the new OEM out there but I'll put these up against any of the newer OEM anytime.

The Wishon 919THI still has my vote as the most forgiving component head on the market. And for me, the combined most forgiving & longest hitting head I've hit would have to be the Alpha 830.2 Plasma. The Geek DCT is a close second, and much - MUCH - cheaper ....unless you get lucky and score an 830.2 on eBay for $30 delivered in mint condition like I did a few months ago. 🙂

Agree.........919 still hard to beat.
Add a Wishon hybrid and the Wishon wedges are excellent.
Other wedge option SCOR / Eidilon. If considering these wedges let me know as I have bunches which will be made available soon.

Custom: Interesting on the Alpha 830.2. I stumbled upon one in my hoarded stash recently. Hmmmm.
I may have to match it against my 919 with the same favorite shaft, Motega of course.

If you're patient, you can score used Alpha drivers off the Bay cheaply, as customgolfcenter did. They don't get the love of some of the other components, I guess because there haven't been new models the last few years. And therod is right -- you can pick up pretty much any OEM driver made in the last ten years. At about three years old is where you can start picking them up in the $50-$75 range, some models excepted, of course. I've found that after Thanksgiving, the used clubs get pretty low prices on EBay, as people start selling their old stuff and buyers seem to be looking for new stuff for gifts. Good luck! There's tons of good stuff out there waiting for new homes.

If you can past the gawdy graphics, the ST line from maltby is pretty darn good. Driver is ridiculously forgiving.

Geek no brainer has been the longest driver for me by far. Not the most forgiving though. Wishon 775 hybrids are still in the bag for me- so good I've never had any inclination to look for other hybrids.

the 49* is a SCOR in very good shape.
Currently shafted with SCOR steel wedge R shaft.....if interested.
For head only $45 and shafted $55.

VaughnRoss Ditto the other posters who like the Wishon 919. I've had two Wishon driver heads in a row, and they are simply the best, IMO. For someone who builds clubs like yourself, should be a no-brainer. Also,
I've had good success with Maltby Tricept wedges. Let us know what you wind up with.....I like the idea of an all component bag.

Love the Alpha C830.2 head. I have the 8 5 degree titanium. Had a couple 7.5 plasma heads that I sold.

My titanium head is up for grabs if interested. I also have a new in plastic 9.5 degree DCT 551 I probably won't use.

Decided to try to pick up a 10.5 degree ping G30 lst to go with my 9 degree one.

Component irons...although NOT forgiving at all, the Alpha MB irons are soooo friggin food looking.
