Haven't posted about clubmaking in a while, but I believe its time for me to make myself a new set. I've not kept up on shafts and am wondering what options...

The KBS shafts are no lighter than ProjectX once I select stiff flex (they jump to 110g and 115g). Probably still a good shaft for me if I cannot find lighter.

It appears that may be the 'new' Dynamic Gold SL - so you may be onto something here.

Thinking cap is on - I'll probably achieve analysis paralysis soon. If you all don't hear from me again, at least you know what happened.

Dynamic Gold 105 won the battle in my head. Lighter while still promising to not balloon the ball.

I got the Dynamic Gold 105 in S300 for the Wishon 575 irons. PW-5 in muscle-back, 4-3 in cavity.
I got the Wishon knock-down wedge shafts for the Wishon PCF wedges. 52, 56, 60.

I took my time but here they are. My remaining step will be the loft/lie checks (once I clear space in the garage for adjustments).

I know you already got your set built, but quick suggestion if you want to save weight when carrying... Bring fewer clubs.

If I was carrying, that would be what I would do. Maybe an every-other set as I can do 3/4 swings pretty effectively and when I have done 4-club events, the score is generally pretty close to normal (sometimes better).

Reminiscing - that round was a blast! Still cannot believe that ball ended up in the fairway on the last hole! Then I blast a 60* over the green to make bogey and lose to your par. You got lucky as hell to take it after bouncing that "fucking LPGA 7 wood" off of the rocks protecting the parking lot. I think the rest of the group heard me cuss you from three holes away! 🤣 🤣

hobbit So, what are we talking when you say "light weight"? Nothing in your post suggests that you are dissatisfied with the PXs, which raises a question and a suggestion:
Question: Why not swap out your PXs into the new heads?
Suggestion: If you just want something new but don't mind the weight of the PXs, have you considered the Wishon S2S? I believe I once read a comment from Tom that said these were comparable to the PXs, but with a softer tip, but I'm not positive about that. Also, if you have the cash, I have read that the Steelfiber 110 S is comparable. Again, I don't know.

I was looking to trim the weight and 10g per club seemed like a good chance to take. I am stubborn and didn't want to move to graphite in my irons. I was unaware of the steelfiber, but maybe next time.

Well, if your old joints start hurting like mine, look to Steelfiber, expensive as can be, but great “steel like” performance at a big reduction in weight. Had I seen this before now, I would have thrown it out there. That’s a great looking set, best of luck with them!

I have a set of irons for sale with Steelfiber i95 stiff shafts. 4-PW have the Steelfibers and the 3-iron has the stock steel shaft from Nike.

In all seriousness, I went through a fitting in 2012 and was thinking I wanted to move to graphite shafts to help save my joints (thinking ahead). I was worried that none of the shafts would have a feel like the Dynamic Gold S400's I was using and I was wrong. These have been great shafts and I even got the same exact shafts with my current set of gamers.
In case you don't know, the graphite shafts are wrapped with 8 micron diameter steel wire (0.003" diameter), if I remember correctly, 5+ miles of it per shaft. You can see it through the clearcoat. Very stable shafts.
