Former FGIer (and 4GEA guy) that has been mostly out of the game for the last 5ish years. I know things never stop with golf equipment and I probably missed a lot. I was one that was always picking up the "cult" clubs or the value priced sticks that competed with the big boys. I made most of my own stuff, but it seems that clubmaking is mostly dying as OEM gear (especially from past seasons) gets cheaper. Now my kids are getting to be teenagers ad want to get out golfing with the old man. Live in Seattle area, so it is mostly a summer time activity but I'm trying to squeeze in some 9 hole rounds before work a few days per week.
Now I need your help to find the sticks I should look at. SS is still around 105 (luckily I still have that, though my distance is not what it used to be). Current bag is Ping i15 irons, Cobra Fly Z 10.5 for driver and older hybrids. I still play decent (12HC). Looking to see if there are any clubs that have hit that cult status that I should be looking at. Always love cheaper, overlooked by the masses clubs (of course I had a set of Top Flight Tour irons, SMT/Bang drivers, Infiniti irons). Basically I'm cheap (aren't we all) and looking for good stuff that won't break the bank. If you are selling, I may be interested. I will be listing some of my stuff here pretty soon, too. I did a lot of BST back in the old FGI days.
