IMO Bryson was always a decent sized guy, "pushing maximum density" as they say, before this and his size doesn't look to be steroid based. Tiger was a skinny gangly young man and then really filled out.....not that you can't do that with diet and exercise, but generally it's a lot harder for the skinny dudes to bulk up.
I find Bryson interesting. He may be the only athlete with a Physics degree. A few rare ones got Engineering degrees, but Physics is where the crazy smart ones go. And it's interesting that he applies it to his sport. He really didn't do anything groundbreaking either. He looked for another area to improve and chose distance. He adopted a plan that long drive competitors probably use and it worked. He hits it significantly farther and he maintained the rest of his game.
It will really interesting to see what he chooses to improve next and how he does it.
