This past Wednesday I was called out (jokingly supposedly) for teeing off 6" ahead of the tee markers. Here's what happened. On the first tee I generally tee off on the right side of the tee box. Sometimes as close to a foot inside the right marker. The tee markers are log shaped and ~ 8-9 inches long.
On that day the left marker was on a diagonal and behind the right marker. My contention is there's an imaginary line from the tip of the right marker to the tip of the left marker. So as long as I was inside that imaginary line I was OK.
Anyone know what the rule on this is? The staff person who set them up obviously wasn't careful in setting them up.
