In my 20 or so years of clubkmaking GW has always been my last choice. Maybe I had a bad experience with them early on but they almost seemed borderline rude when I dealt with them or at least cared less. So I deal with others who are more customer friendly. Toward the end Golfsmith got equally snooty as well.

Rickochet I’ve personally never had an issue with them. I just don’t like the nickel and dime of this situation. My request wasn’t ultra specific, it wouldn’t have taken them but a couple minutes to get it as I requested. And wave it this time, explain how to put the request in the cart so I can pay for it next time.

I agree, they should have waived the charge this time since it was their error not to notify you at checkout and inform you what the normal charge is and that it will be charged next time. I think what they charge is a bit high.

Cutter66 I’m certain. But since nearly half of that 6K has occurred in the past couple months, I’d like to think it would have been recognized. It’ll be a little while til they see me back.

But I wonder if the guy who sent you the notice for the $9.47 even has any idea what you've spent? I assume GW is a decent sized company where the top guys aren't pulling orders. I bet if you contacted somebody higher up they'd refund the $9 and maybe even sweeten the deal a bit. I know I would.

That would be a good question to be answered. If going off of foundry decals that's a crap shoot. But then again most don't have they l/l checked on their clubs and go by manufacturer website specs which is also a crap shoot. IMO if you are going to pay for a hand pick up charge it should be done correctly on a high quality l/l gauge by trained personnel.

Tom Wishon spent hours training Diamond Golf UK folks on how to correctly measure on a l/l gauge and how to adjust for all Wishon designs for adjustments for l/l on a high quality l/l machine.

When I paid the $9, I noted to them that I felt they could have waived the charge given the $$ I’d spent with them as of late. We’ll see if they follow up.

I agree, its more the principal than the actual cost. Hopefully, they roll out the red carpet and give you VIP treatment considering you're a big customer for them.

If not, then are we to expect a legendary cutter sale- "i hate golfworks" edition 😉

No idea. Is he an owner/higher up? Does he even see the billing or just picks it? I mean I have no idea, just throwing possibilities out there.

yeah he’s a higher up. I believe head of Quality maybe? Been there forever. I’m almost positive he’s the one that hand picks.

Cutter66 I'm surprised they just didn't charge you for the service and send the order out. They don't have codes you can enter for hand select and loft and lie alterations...,.you have to enter it in the notes. I always type they have my permission to charge my cc for the requested service.

Re: expecting them to hand pick for free. I wouldn't. If I were them I would set up codes to allow purchase online. Always thought it was stupid they didn't, but then again most call those orders in so they don't get f'ed up!
