There's a great documentary on HBO called The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart. When you get Eric Clapton (if people want to give him credit for their comeback in the mid 70's he'll take it) and Justin Timberlake (they're fucking awesome) agreeing that says something.
One artist says their catalog is right up their with Dylan and the Beatles.
They had hits in 4 decades and even with brother Robin and Maurice gone Barry just released a new album Greenfields. Still Barry says he'd give back all the hits to have his brothers back.
And as Barry says what will last is their songwriting. They wrote hit songs for several other artists as well. It was surprising to learn when they wrote the hit songs for Saturday Night Fever, they never read the script. They were just writing songs for their new album.
Here's a song from 1997 called alone. Not many could harmonize like them.
