That's why graphite has been a godsend for tall older guys like me! I used to have to limit myself to lengthening
my clubs by no more than 1 inch. With graphite I can go + 1.5 inches with no problem as far as total weight, ease
of swinging, etc. I've been using graphite in everything except the wedges for about 15 years....
Agreed but also think of the reverse. Std. to shorter playing length with light graphite yield no "feel" for the majority which is the issue with shorter W-T-F players. Then add to that there are very few choices of heavier graphite that have weaker flexes available. You have large problems with fitting these kinds of players just as you do with longer W-T-F players. W-T-F not height is the important fitting parameter.
BTW I stated mid-weight steel as this is for a 20 year old player (per OP) is why mid-weight steel. Just for edification.
