Tcafla This entire thread is USELESS without a video.
I agree, I'd actually like to see what he's proposing. From what I've read you're feet are pointed way left and you actually spin on your left heel to increase rotation.
This is the author, here's some explanation:
Meanwhile, you will have to make do with a photo of me using the Reflex Swing. I do not have a swing speed to do the 'convex' strike on the ball. Other than that, you can observe the characteristics that I have advocated in the book, namely the narrow stance and the pivot on the left heel with a half 'fan-slide'. If I am able to swing any faster, my left foot would have done the full 'fan-slide'. I shall send you a photo of someone who needs and can do the 'fan-slide' at a future date. A downswing needs to be fast enough to have a full follow-through that requires a full 'fan-slide'. Otherwise, the pivot on the left heel with a left foot half 'fan-slide' will suffice. By the way, I was 78 years old (in 2018) when the photo was taken and I am only 5' 6" and not muscular. But the Reflex Swing allows me distance enough to have a 16 handicap.
