Played Friday 47 damn ugly with oversized stuff. 460cc driver, metal fairways, FC-One Plus graphite, high MoI putter. Put me all over the 9 hole muni.
Played Saturday 195cc Hiro Honma persimmon driver, 2 persimmon Gintys 15 deg. and 26 deg. 4i, 6i, 8i and PW Louisville Classic 50's on RP Rifle Lite steeland Louisville persimmon mallet putter. 42
2nd weekend of playing so not very refined yet but I can see what works. Aim small miss small is more my mind set.

I wouldn't call a hybrid iron a shovel, which is what those look like. Shovels dig. You'd have to play in mud with those. I have seen those, in hand, at my local golf outlet. They are 'nasty' as a certain President would say.

With my swing shape/path/arc, I flight the ball WAY better with the fat-bottom girls. I hit the ball in the center of the face on most hits, so my miss-hits tend to be fats and thins with smaller soled clubs. It's all about turf interaction with me.

FC-One Plus irons 5i 3.6mm 0 bounce, 6i 3.3mm 1 bounce, 7i 2.7mm 2 bounce, 8i 2.1mm 3 bounce, 9i 1.6mm 5 bounce, PW 1.1mm 7 bounce. To me that's not a lot of offset nor bounce on most ultra game improvement irons. They are just huge shovels with a lot of miss room. I am more a guy less miss room more concentration straighter shots even on slight misses and able to work ball both ways.
Played a Hiro Honma 195cc persimmon today and though not the longest I was in the fairway 100% of the time while the bombers were all over the place. You wanna talk about slow play while the bombers search for their balls. Ugh. 40 today. Happy with that at 71 and just an average game.
