I forgot about "The Last Dance" on ESPN last night and my son and I watched Stripes instead. It originally came out when I was in college and a lot of my buddies raved about how funny it was. I had never watched it because the trailers before it was released did not seem very funny to me at the time. Finally decided to give it a shot last night of all nights.
I found it to be an amusing, but not very funny movie. I'm wondering how a movie with Bill Murray, John Candy, Harold Ramis, Judge Reinhold, John Larroquette, etc. could not be hilarious. Humor is subjective indeed! My son gave up on it 3/4 through and then asked me if he missed anything after it ended - not really. The actors are nostalgic, the film not very memorable IMO. RIP Harold and John. I miss you, but won't be reminiscing through Stripes again.
