d5n03 Celebrating today. 🎉. We closed on the sale of our Iowa house this morning. It’s been a nearly year long ordeal - went on the market mid July last year.
Spartan My golf round got rained out for the second week in a row. The round two weekd before that was rain shortened. Add in a week of vacation and when (if) I play next week, it will have been a month since I played 18. The golf gods are not with me.
VigilanteTrail Quick trip to the store, pack up the truck, hitch up the utility trailer and head back up to the mountains for the holiday weekend…dropped our “cabin” off up there last Friday for the season.

sdandrea1 Closed on our one and only home today. First time we're mortgage-free. Moved some light stuff, painters are here, ceiling fan guy is here, Internet guy is here. Movers coming on Monday to do the big move. Feels good to be out of the snow-bird routine. Roots going in deep. 👍

Last year we felt like the trip down and back was torture, and the time we spent there just wasn't as much fun as in the past. We'll stay home and hibernate!
Bravopilot sdandrea1 Same here mortgage wise, always seems weird. Now to remember those pesky property tax and insurance bills. Sadly, the way New Mexico does assessments, my taxes on a less value house, although twice the sq ft, is nearly the same as Northern VA.

I just figure how much my property taxes and insurance will be per month and transfer that amount into my savings account monthly, so the money is there when taxes and insurance come due.....
johnnydoom As close to nothing as possible. Spent the morning watching original Twilight Zone episodes. Made BLTs for the wife and my lunch. Back to watching Twilight Zone. Some of Burgess Meredith’s best works! Wife and daughter are heading out later to friend’s house for a 4th of July party. I’m staying behind so the cat will have company when fireworks are popping later and so I don’t have to bathe in my sweat outside for hours on this very hot and windless day.
