Typhoon How big was the practice area for hitting balls?
I'm gonna guess and say it was probably 75 yards long, and 20 yards deep. When the previous owner put in the range it was beautiful....nice turf, buckets with a mixture of sand and grass seed, etc. But, this course is out in the country and the types of golfers I see out there hitting balls are more like the guys YOU talk about at your course. So its been neglected, both by the golfers and by management. The last couple of years it was pretty beat up, but you could always find some decent grass SOMEWHERE. I guess this is the new owners' answer to the problem. They've done about half of the range in concrete / mats. The other half is still grass, and I'm hoping they leave it that way!
