Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

I was released to return to work. Went and talked to the boss and go back 4/08. 3/24 was 8 weeks post op.
This surgery may, eventually, lead to my divorce. No shit.

A 300 mile round trip to pick up some parts for one
of the used car dealers I drive for, he also has a body shop.
Nice day for a drive, not much traffic. Made it within 3 miles
of home when 7 deer decided to play chicken with me, hit the
brakes and went between the 3rd and 4th deer, close enough
to see their eyelashes. Changed underwear when I got home.

Hanging out at the annual Easter convention in the Opryland hotel Nashville. Stepped outside for a few minutes and it is just beautiful out there. It’s beautiful inside too, but I’m a little put off by the hustle and bustle this year for some reason.

I mowed the lawn for the first time today, and then, since it was pretty nice, I went out to the "home course" and hit balls. New wrinkle though.....over the winter, the course poured concrete and installed mats on the range....#$%&*!
I hate mats. Guess I'll have to change my range to the state park nearby.....better range, but a longer drive, and not as good of a chipping / pitching facility....😠

Same here, so now I have a virtual golf bag to go along with my sunny day bag and my rainy day bag.

Thankfully the range I go to still has grass, but the housing and commercial development is inching closer so who knows how long it lasts. 🙁

I am pretty convinced that simulator league and also hitting off mats on the range early in the season are why my left elbow is fairly Fubar’d these days…

The owners of our course seldom, if ever, play golf. I'm sure they're looking at mats as a cheaper way to maintain
their range. The hackers I saw out there today obviously don't know the difference, but they're gonna lose anybody who takes their golf seriously and likes to practice.....

fatshot I bet it looks nice and will appeal to more people than grass does. I don’t know how big the range is but maintaining grass to where it’s actually something you’d want to hit off of is expensive. They may lose a couple “Purists” but nobody really cares. In the whole grand scheme they will make more money

Oh, I'm sure they won't give a damn whether I practice there or not.....probably won't even notice, LOL. It's just a shame (IMO) that I've lost what was a really good place to practice.

fatshot How big was the practice area for hitting balls? We have one place that is huge and they are able to move the hitting areas alot and they reseed. It does cost probably $5 a bucket more than everywhere else.. but I see why. They also have a covered area with Trackman and mats. But that’s it really…. Everywhere is mats. I can think of 2 other ranges that have grass areas where you pay an extra &3 but they are absolute shit. Small areas with hardly any grass because it’s just too small.

I find at the big grass range that it’s just ok. The ground is sandy because the grass is always new grass and as soon as you clip the ground it’s like an explosion from a bunker. I don’t mind mats, it’s just me getting my swing grooved. I don’t notice anything when I go out to play.

course, I was half-pissed off b/c I had to hit off the mats.

Very well. I was seeing much better the afternoon of the surgery than before. Easy, peasy with no pain and it took about 20 mins.. The worst part was having to be there at 6:15am. I get the other one done next week. Thanks for asking.

I'd be a scratch player if I could hit all my fairway shots off a mat. lol Perfect lie and forgiveness on every shot. Here in Florida they scalp the fairways to save money on mowing. Tight lies and sandy soil. Not a good recipe for hitting irons.

I remember Hank Haney saying it's much easier to hit an iron off the grass if there's a little grass there. lol Kinda like if you could put a life saver candy under your ball on every iron shot. lol A little forgiveness under your ball is nice.
