No, I haven't been through the desert on a horse with no name.
Most of the ones I haul have names, and I don't ride them. I take them for a drive.
I got down here an hour ago and went straight to boss lady's horse trailer. Her ex spent a few weeks last month doing a disc brake conversion on it. It cost about 3k for the parts. He was able to get all the mechanical/ hydraulic stuff done right, and most of the electrical. For some reason the wire he grabbed for 12v + wasn't 12v+. It was dead. It took me about 45 minutes to figure that out today, and probably another hour or 2 messing with it last week. Once I figured out the problem, I did some mickey mouse wiring to get it up and working. Boss lady always said my half-assed fixes, have been better than most everyone else's whole assed fixes. Trailer now has working brakes, so she doesn't have to worry about her kid hauling the horses without trailer brakes. I'll see about making up a proper fix for it when I get home, so it'll look cleaner. That'll get done next time I have a chance to get under that trailer.
Now I'm just waiting for marching orders from boss man.
