Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

Been 4 days of "we're working on it"...

CallMeAl Yeah we'll see. He initially went to closest hospital because Hartford, which is best for heart issues like his, had an overloaded ER. I think that worked out because the closest hospital was pretty quiet and they were really attentive. But then they worried about his heart (he's had stents, quad bypass, pacemaker, et al) so we agreed to transfer him to Hartford. By now I feel like I should be getting frequent parking points for Hartford Hospital. And if anyone is tracking my cell they probably think I'm the sickest person ever having been in 3 different hospitals multiple times in the last 3 months.

I hope everything works out for you and your family. This definitely isn't an easy time.

It does get frustrating. And I appreciate the efforts from the staff.

But we were told Friday he'd be ready to go. Haven't heard a word since then.

We're waiting on the same social worker from Friday, but have seen or heard anything.

Hardest part for me is having dad say
"take me home" and "they lied to me" ...

All I can say is "we're working on it" , same thing they tell me...
Disappointing him even more. 😞

Just as I posted, the social worker stepped in.

We're waiting on approval and a "discharge code" from the VA. Once we have that, we should be good to go.

KCee Back in the office today. Spent the weekend at the hospital with my dad after he fell again. Trying to line up a place for him to go after he gets out. His vitals were good last night, but he didn't always know what was going on.

Ugh… sounds all too familiar. My MIL, starts with her own condo, then she falls and can’t get up, trip to the hospital, then a stint in rehab, then back to her place. Half the time it me and Nick at 2 am at her place getting her up off the ground, or she can’t get out of her chair….

Then we sell the condo. Move her to assisted living but they have a “no lift” policy… fuckin thanks a ton for $9000 and “no lifting”. I asked,” how about pulling? Do have a no pull clause as well or if she can’t get out of her chair can you grab her arms and pull??”

Sorry to say I’ve just been down that road. I feel bad for your father and you guys. I hope the fall was just a “one off” thing

No sadly he's fallen a # of times now. He fell Friday and then again Sat morning. He still has a lump on his head from a fall right after Thanksgiving. The last valve replacement along with pacemaker was supposed to improve his oxygen and hopefully limit the falls, but he's actually gotten a lot worse.

Working on my revised territory. Spend 2.5 hours hitting 5 accounts. Not bad, 45 minutes raise in and out. Summer time I’d be playing by noon. That’s the plan, noon at the lastest

Sadly both places are gone now. Rockingham is a mall and one of those snobby upscale outdoor shopping areas. Suffolk downs has stores there now but the indoor thing still stands, I’ll get you a picture. Wonderland for dogs is also gone

Finally had a decent practice down here in Florida. The first two sessions I was stiff as a board and could hardly hit the ball. But I've been stretching every day, and I felt more like a golfer than an old hacker. Hit several irons, a few fairway woods, some hybrids, then chipped and putted for a while. If this keeps up I may play a round, even at Florida prices!!

First day back at my old gym. I had been there from 2006 until Covid shut everything down. They guy ended up doing away with my grandfathered rate and with me out of work, I couldn’t afford it so I quit. I joined one here near the house but they never had classes, probably had 4 members and the board of health shut the dump down.

So yesterday I went over, I’m still friends with a lot of people who stayed as well as the owner and signed back up. Felt weird to be back, but good to be in a class with more people and a training program with a goal.

Came home and took my youngest and his wife grocery shopping. They came up from Boston for Dental appts. Nice to have them here!

LBlack14 Praying for a great outcome. Try not to let them push you out of the hospital too early. Do let them get you up to walk as soon as possible and use the breathing exerciser as much as you can within prescribed limits too. Recovery will be much faster that way. Don't let daytime TV get you down.

Had quadruple bypass in 2010. It's no fun, but in 3 weeks you should be feeling close to normal, and soon after that, stronger than you've been in years. It's probably different for everyone, but I never even had to fill my prescription for the opioid pain meds.

I think more people in my area are sick than are not. Flu and/or chest crud with cough. It took me about a month to get over it and required some antibiotics and prednisone. I was also very tired and slept a lot. I can also tell you what every brand of cough medicine on the shelf at the Krogers tastes like. Get well soon Steve.
