Vacation, 36 holes of golf. Sweetgras then Sage Run. Tough conditions today. ~ 50 degrees. 15 mph winds with gusts. Sweetgrass was reasonable enough to score but Sage was firm and fast. Hitting the fairway was at a premium today. Oh my did I get some flyers and knuckles🤭. The rough although not overly long, was thick. Chipping and pitching was also tough to judge. Sage has quite a few risk reward holes and shots. There are two par 3s with 20+ yards of uphill added to the yardage. 5, you cannot see any of the putting surface. I lasered 154, 179 adjusted to a front pin, dead downwind🥺. WTF do you do with that🤔. I hit 9i just short and got up and down. The previous hole I had 159 from the rough although this was more whispy, cross/down wind and I hit 9 and flew the green, hit the down slope and went ~ 30 yards long into some gnarly sh1t. I figured 9 might work🙃 on the next hole. 14 is the other par 3. Always play one from the tips if no one is pushing me/us. 231, 254 adjusted, front pin, wind is left to right. Narrow opening on the left, steep drop off right with bunkers. I smoked a drive ~ 15 yards left with some cut and the wind took it and it carromed off the slope and funneled on to the green to the middle. Of the dozen times I've played it, never really had a chance to get one on from the tips. Been just short once. It's a difficult shot from the whites which typically works out to be 195 adjusted; from the blacks it's just ridiculous. 2 putts for par✊.
