Early start yesterday, found a joiner with some free time to get started on kitchen refit and he was single-handed so I got the labourer/apprentice gig (at 62 years old!). Basically taking out a built-in microwave/steamer then removing the carcass, moving the adjoining carcass (built-in double oven) into that spot then filling the gap created with an American style fridge/freezer.
Still got some work to finish it off, an overhead above the fridge/freezer and a shelf unit down the side to fill the gap. We found the original kitchen supplier and they can colour match the carcasses/laminates for a proper "fitted" look so those are on order; need to get them measurements for splashbacks for the rest of the kitchen and the utility room, they had just what golf_ghirl wanted yesterday. Apparently. Personally I couldn't see the difference between theirs and the multiple others we looked at elsewhere 🤷
Early start today as well, the joiner asked if he could have our previous fridge/freezer as part payment for his work, and turned up early doors single-handed and needing help loading it into his van. Then I took the dog for a walk, to give myself a rest ... haven't decided what's next, may grab the pencil bag for a few holes.
