Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

LogicalOne sounds like a pretty good gift! Sounds kinda like a good way to spend the day too. Building clubs. I'm waiting for the day that I need to upgrade or re-shaft my irons. I did enjoy building my driver, might be fun to build the rest of my clubs as well.

Bank Holiday today so time for the rain shortage to end in spectacular fashion. Not that the dog was bothered and at least I did get to visit the golf course, albeit restricted to chucking a tennis ball and finding some golf balls. Wet is an inadequate description, Goretex a modern(ish) wonder ...

LBlack14 Everyone is hiring over here. No one want's to work anymore. With the extra $300 unemployment benefit and all the stimulus going out, they choose to sit on their dead asses. Delivering and picking up milling cutters for sharpening. Went to 37 tool shops. Almost all of them asked me if I wanted to go back to work for them. To a tee they all said that work has been picking up for some time now, but can't hire anyone that has experience and no one that wants to learn the trade. They are willing to teach. Sad.

Similar here. We can't find control panel builders for our business. I think we are even running ads in the Mid West for people who are looking for a warmer climate.

Not entirely correct... try being 60 years old. I can’t get a job or even a response back from companies in the field I worked in since college. 2 places were set to hire me but I’m convinced when they found out my age, they never contacted me or even responded to any emails I sent asking when we were going to continue on boarding.

All they hire is 21 year old girls out of college, call them "“interns " and pay them shit. It’s real... I’m experiencing it. They don’t even read my resume, they just look at the dates..

Lucky for me changing my profession at this age just goes to show that there are lines of work where good people work. Working as an assistant in the pro shop, an instructor at the golf school and a tech rep for Ping... They hire for experience and work ethic.

On a business trip. Travelled Sunday so that I could play golf Monday before work on Tuesday. Unfortunately, thunderstorms in NC made me cancel golf plans. Woke up in Greensboro today, and still had to drive to Lynchburg. Checked weather.com, and yep, thunderstorms all day in Greensboro.

However, it looked like the storms were going to stay south of Lynchburg. So I drove up earlier than expected. Got here at noon, teed off at 12:10 in a light drizzle that stopped after #1. A little more drizzle on #9 and #10. But that was all.

The looming rain kept everyone away. I left at 4:15 after finishing 36 holes. It was a good day.

Good luck with that! They don't want anything to do with what's labeled as "work", here either. Wrong 4 letter word, for getting their attention. Spell it F R E E, and they'll beat your doors down. Even John Deere is having trouble now with getting employees. And if they cannot find help, no one can.

Mattyv Went to some shops that I didn't know existed. Looked around as much as I could. One shop even machines carbide with diamond tooling to precise tolerances and not by grinding. Didn't know that that was even possible. Could be hired just about anywhere, but not interested in the type of work I did my whole life. I got the toughest most complicated parts to make. Maybe if they guaranteed me only gravy jobs.

I was able to land a PPP loan for our business in the beginning of COVID. We were short on work and were going to have to make a decision on layoffs. The loan allowed us to keep everyone on staff and not loose any of our machinist. I am glad I was able to help save the jobs and a bonus is that we didn't have to then fill those spots. We are so busy right now.

I prepped and cleaned up a few shafts for install. Watched Pay shoot some hoops in the drive.

LogicalOne putting adapters on some shafts for some heads aquired this winter. Also gonna shaft up some Maltby heads with some Rifles I got from Uncle Steve. I don't want to be in too much of a rush. "I've got too much time on my hands" - STYX 😁
