Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

Dude wasn’t interested in a bundle deal or anything of the sort…told me he still needs to look up what all of the stuff is worth…WTF? Then why did you place a for sale advertisement??

Anyhow, he didn’t have anything that really jumped out at me except for some Snake Eyes 600XC forged irons and a Quick Strike hybrid in 34* 😲😲…and regarding the 600XC’s, he said “those are mine” like he didn’t want to sell them…

It’s basically like the guy wants to make top dollar but really doesn’t want to sell the stuff?…weird…all while telling me about how cheap he buys everything that he has…his cars, a like new canoe for $75, a $6K motor home, doubled his $$ on a Grand Cherokee, etc…

I told him thanks for letting me look at his stuff and I left…😆🤣

I have some of those SE Quick Strike heads. They still work well, but take .335 shafts, like those Paragon & 3 Fire Forged(from 25 yrs. ago🤣).

I guess he was not really ready to part with his collection.
Sad thing is, older golf equipment has not made the category of collectables, yet. Maybe his great grand kids could demand a higher asking price, with the inflation, it'll hard to see getting his initial investment back.
So, he gets to keep most if not all of them.

Exactly…which honestly I can totally understand…but just don’t post stuff for sale on social media then…until you are ready to rid of it.

He seemed to have a similar passion like us Buzzers…as he used to build a decent volume of clubs down in Vegas when he lived there I guess…but he doesn’t seem to be in touch with the reality of what things are really worth…

Like you said…maybe in the future his great grandchildren will make some coin 😀

All afternoon I was fixing a plugged storm drain line.
We found water in the crawl space after raining. I traced the parameter of the property and discovered one of the downspouts was pushing out rain water .
Disassembled the downspout, dug down 2 and half feet from the storm drain receptacle and found an elbow joint and a T joint . Took them apart and scoped out a large piece corner piece of fiber shingle, some grass root and a couple of gutter fastening nails. Two handful of decomposed leaves.
Ran water down the 4" PVC joint to make sure no more blockage in both direction ( 30 minutes ).
Checked the crawl space to make sure no water seeped in from the running water.
Put back the down spout and covered up the soil I dug out around the drain pipe.
Rain forecasted in the next 4 days, Hopefully I do not need to do this again.
Getting too old for this kind of stuff.

I understand the sentimental value to each person is unmeasurable. I have a few golf clubs from my father which I will never rid of them as long as I live. Those old persimmon woods from Japan will stay in the golf bag in the corner of my study forever. I remember that my father paid a lot for those and they do not worth anywhere near what he had paid in today's market. But to me, they are priceless.
I remember one guy who went to see Mike Rees and hauled away a minivan full of persimmons and old irons sets from the collection after he had visited him several times.
Frankly, I don't see the majority of the old stuff worth much except for the pre-1930s collectibles. Simply because those had become historical relics since most of their kinds were long gone.
A very narrow segment of the market. And it is very difficult to "make a market" for it.
I collect older golf clubs because either I'll use them on the golf course or I will repurpose the shaft or other parts for future repair.
My wise wife had persuaded me not to bring home stuff and let it sit in the garage collecting dust.
Everyone needs a wise partner, to keep them "sensibly normal".

I was hoping to get a lot done at work because I figured Friday would be screwed up driving Nick to get his car . Well… I guess Spike has a grooming appointment at 8 I have to take him to and pick up whenever he is done. Wife takes Nick today for car paperwork and tomorrow my day is trashed again as I take him to pick it up. Looking into next week Monday I have to cart around my other son and wife to their appts.

You're the designated family driver. Good to be able to help out. Hope they appreciate your caring and effort. Modern day solution is to get a Uber or Lyft.
Those ride share is getting expensive around here. My son in law use it once in awhile since their company will reimburse the cost for business trips. A ride feom airport to his hose is approx. 26 miles, a whopping $89+ gratuity. OMG, I understand the fuel cost is up but.... regular taxi service is almost completely disappeared around here. The shared airport van express service is also not cheap and have to take a ride to detour through other area before heading home...( I think it is about $40 ?)
Doing things for family is the best time in my life, I'll get to spend more time with grown kids and knowing they are taken care of.
My wife's vision is getting weaker some days, especially at evenings and heavy raining days. This old guy had the cataract surgery a few years back so I'm at ease knowing that she does not have to be behind the wheel. Of course she'll say to me " I can drive myself know you"...... Yes, Yes, I know you're capable, but just let me do it while I'm still able to.

Got my robot mower today. FedEx in 4 days from California coast to PA. Went to local Firehouse Restaurant and Pub. It's on the second floor all glass overlooking the largest national lake in Pa.
Had their great wings and my monthly Yuengling.

Started out the day with a Sprouts Market blueberry bagel. It was downright tasty. Just settling into my work cubicle for what should be a pretty quiet day since it is Friday and spring is springing here in Memphis, at least today anyway. No jacket required, or even desired.

96 days left to the FIFA world cup event in and around Seattle area. Frankly, not looking forward to it. Traffic is already bad, being one of the worst city for commute in the Nation. Don't need additional hundreds and thousands to jam up the roadways.
We'll see how much the local business will benefit from this event, perhaps all good and maybe not worth to host another one?
Our infamous title of Rain City did not scare away many of the new comers from moving in. Our freeways are jammed in multiple bottlenecks 24/7. Used to be less traffic during the weekends but now it is a reverse.
Glad that we raised our children in a less hustle and bustle time. Now we have to worry about helping out on the grand kids.

Dewsweeper We have FIFA coming to Gillette Stadium this summer as well. Glad I don’t live near it. After the media etc…. There will only be 5000 parking spaces for the 50,000 plus fans. Our public trans is so bad there are delays on weekends Nevermind weekdays.

FIFA wanted the town to belly up 9 million dollars to pay security and they said no😂…. Love it!!! Put FIFA on its heels but then Patriots owner Robert Kraft swooped in and paid the money. Too bad he didn’t use that money pay Stefan Diggs🙄🙄

We have light rail now so parking could theoretically be stretched to neighboring town and cities. I only know the event Parking will be $150 and up for football and baseball games near the stadium. Have no idea how much they will sucker the FIFA fans. I know the local businesses like restaurants, hotel/motel and the usual tourist spots will benefit more than $9 millions for the event. who knows, there seem to be plenty willing to spend money and not thinking saving it first.
I know I won't participate, since A, I'm not a big fan for soccer, B the tickets and parking are out of sight, not even considering the traffic.
Thirdly, the event will be hosted with the best weather we'll have all year round, that probably will not be an over statement to say this region has the best weather in the North America from June through August. Many of my kids friends came for their wedding last summer have since considered moving here if, their work permits. A few who owns their business are seriously considering moving here, but, I think they'll investigate the business climate before they make a move.
Starbucks is moving their headquarter out of State to Georgia? After Boeing had moved out decades ago and also one of their assembly plant. Small business failure rate in the first year is larger than 50% here. Not really friendly to the businesses. Also the passing of the so called "millionaire tax" and the on going struggle with repeatedly proposed State income tax......
I hope they are just trying to scare away addition influx of new population and not putting all the proposed taxes into practice.
Just learned that the State will cut $100 million for the working family subsidy. They have to cut from somewhere but shouldn't be from the pockets of working families. They need to stop spending on the free handouts and building the tiny homes. It'll be like trying to fill the bottomless black hole. The more you give out free money and free housing, the more will be coming . Can't save the world. All the programs need to have qualification like local resident for 5+ years or something like that.
Dumb politicians, copying the failed example of California and we're already tenth of billions in bedt. State can not create nor print money as the Federal Government so we'd better start from tightening the spending, first.

Irrigation company is running power down to the pier and hanging an irrigation pump into the river. Then they connect back up to our lawn irrigation system, terminate the sewer backflow and connection. I'll be watering the yard from the Rapahannock River this year and forward. Payback is about 2 years.

Pics show them repairing the electric and water lines they're cutting as they trench. One of the reasons I hired the irrigation company to do the whole job.
