Fox Lake Golf Club this morning . Pretty big frost across the state but was lucky in that the sheet was open until 10 so I jumped on a 930 tee time and crossed my fingers. Callled on my way and the pro shop said g2g but avoid the shaded areas! 3some of geezers snuck out before but they played quick/under 3 hours. I took my time. Guys in carts don't think guys walking could possibly be faster🙃. Anyway interesting course original 9 is old school /tree lined and they added 9 which is open/prairie/links in look. Those new holes are really pleasing to the eye-they did a great job with those holes which are sprinkled in to the old 9 3/6 on front and 6/3 on back -old/new. In very good condition greens near perfect.
Grabbed a beer on the way to Quit Qui Oc which has 27 holes with the Glacial 9 at a separate clubhouse which is what I played. Fun 9 holes of golf. Superb piece of property for golf in the kettle moraine; elevation change, rolling terrain, drains well, firm/fast, and in very good condition. The original 9/front is a really old Bendelow design and my favorite, has some amazing holes with equally great green complexes. A few of the holes are meh, but overall quirk/charm/fun. the back was later added and the landforms match the glacial 9 and are quite dramatic. Would have been cool to see what Bendelow would have done but I bet it would have been something!
Hit some good shots for the day. Love this weather too 38 to start and 50 to end. Crisp, sunny and very little wind.
Picked up a Vito add mayo and peppers. Wolfed that down and am now enjoying a Hubbard's Cave French Toast🙃
