KCee 16th birthday, but parents made me wait to take drivers ed in school which meant waiting nearly 2 months
WTH? In IL you could not even think of any license unless you took....and passed, driver's ed in school. And you could not take dr. ed. until you were a soph, even if you were 16 before that class year. You could however get a 'learner's permit' which you did need in order to drive the vehicle in dr. ed. class. Lot of hoops.
But even after taking the class and passing, you still needed parents sig to get a license.
I was once-upon-a-time, a semi driver. Back then it was a Class D, in IL. Paper test was easy, but the driving test could be a real bitch. Things have changed in all states for a license to drive a semi. Even have a Fed test to pass, and a separate test for transporting hazardous/dangerous items/materials. There is no way in Hell a lot these drivers you see on the road today can pass those tests. They cannot read English, nor speak it!! That is a fact, btw. If in doubt, go to a truck stop and walk up to one and start a convo.😉And most of them have never driven anything until we brought them here.
