Went out to mow the lawn a couple of hours ago and discovered what I thought was a rash on my lower leg. Since I had been bitten by a strange looking bug a month or so ago, I'm thinking Lyme's disease, so I drove over to Urgent Care. I was told there that it was not a rash, but a petechial hemorrhage (sort of like a bruise) and to consult with my regular doctor. Came home and called to set up an appointment. After waiting on hold for about 15 minutes, I was told that since I hadn't been in to see the Dr. in 3 years, I'd have to be treated as a "new patient," and the soonest I could be seen was next week! Ah....the "medical-industrial complex"......🤬
