Went out to practice today.....chipped and putted for a while, then went over to the driving range. While I was
there, a younger woman came out with her clubs and a BIG bucket and found a spot right next to mine. I snuck
a peak whenever I could without being obvious. She was STRIPING it....one right after another perfectly struck
irons (using BLADES, no less!).
So finally, I said to her, "You've either taken lessons or played competitively somewhere....am I right?" She said,
"Yeah, I played 4 years at the University of Michigan!" Oh.... So we talked about where she had played high
school golf (as it turned out, I had coached against her HS coach), and it turned out that she had played some
Florida Mini-tour golf for a couple of years after graduation. But, after deciding that she couldn't make enough
money to make ends meet, she took a job as a police officer in a smaller neighboring town. She said that
now that she's "established," she decided to start playing golf again (for fun, this time).
A good conversation with a nice young lady, and man could she hit that ball.....!!!!
