Speaking of trees ... Some weeks ago I was walking the dog on the course during some horrendous weather. Took shelter in a patch of trees long and left of the #13 green. Rain was horizontal but there was a fallen tree with about a 5' diameter base that looked a good spot to hunker down. It was, and there was a bonus -
Thss would be the ground side of the base of the base, not the roots. You can see 6 balls in this picture, there were actually 8 when I started lifting them out, including a couple of usable ProV1s. No idea how they got there although there was a lot of drainage and new bunker work on the left of that green; maybe the groundsmen found them and chucked them there (although they usually chuck them somewhere more visible)?
Anyways ... not been on for a while, but not much to report. Few charity runs, lot of dog walks, a few games of golf, a couple of football matches ... happy days, except for visit to contractor to help golf_ghirl pick out new bathroom/shower stuff.
