I tried to change the filter in our whole house water filter. Simple job, right? After changing the filter, the connection to the copper pipes start to leak. Tightening them made it worse. So I took the fitting off only to discover that the o-ring was deteriorating. Then a trip to Lowes to but two new fittings. Still leaking. take it apart, more wraps of teflon tape. Still leaking. Repeat. Repeat again, I think maybe it's good now. We'll see.
